Data entry by pocket PC

This program lets you enter daily progress reports right during your site inspection. It uses the company list of your project so that the actual writing effort is significantly reduced.

Site Journal for Windows must be installed on your computer to print daily progress reports or to convert them into pdf files.

You should first create your company list there and export it into the ActiveSync directory for your pocket PC. Then you can load Site Journal Mobile Edition and create your daily progress report.

Finally, import the daily progress reports from your pocket PC to Site Journal for PC. This is very easy to do using the ActiveSync program that establishes the connection between the pocket PC and the desktop.

There you can create pdf files from the imported daily progress reports, browse, print, and send reports.

Enter everyone present by selecting from the company list.

System requirements

Site Journal Mobile Edition for Pocket PC includes a great number of entry options and many forms. Pocket PCs frequently have limited resources so that it may happen that the program does not run. We tested the program successfully on devices such as Microsoft Pocket PC 2002, 32 MB ROM, 32 MB RAM and Intel XScale 300 MHz. We think these are the minimum requirements.

It may be required for older models to install the .NET Compact Framework before you install Site Journal Mobile Edition. We included it in the installation routine for the widespread ARM processors. If your device has an old MIPS or SH3 processor, please download .NET Compact Framework from Microsoft: .NET Compact Framework

Record the performance status in note form. The text is completed later in the office.

Automatic storage

A specialty of Windows Mobile is the automatic closing of programs without saving. This occurs when there is low free RAM memory due to too many open programs or if a program has not been used in a long time.

To prevent data loss, Site Journal Mobile Edition saves your data every minute to separate files called BTM-AutoSave.btm. Just like any other Site Journal file, you can import these saved files into Site Journal for Windows.
