This App allows you to enter daily construction reports during the construction inspection using a smartphone or tablet.
The list of companies and text blocks already entered are used, so that the actual paperwork is reduced to a minimum. Dictating texts and then transcribing them with the Workbook for computers also saves time and reduces the need to do a lot of typing on small devices.
With the Site Journal application you can create construction diaries, synchronize, record, edit and generate daily construction reports as HTML files and send them by email along with the photos. To manage daily reports within the build diary, to create photo albums, and finally to evaluate data in lists and reports, you must have the Site Journal for Windows and MacOS installed on a computer.
Synchronization between the app and the desktop version can be done via email, SD card or USB cable or via the Dropbox and Google Drive cloud services. Synchronization is then turned on on the computer in the Site Journal for any construction project, the rest runs almost automatically. Site Journals can also be swapped between desktop and laptop computers in the same way.
The app creates complete construction diaries that can be opened and edited on any other device. Multiple site supervisors can create construction reports with the app, which are then synced to a single license on one computer.
The main menu
The main menu can access various settings and functions that are independent of the daily site report.
Site Journals:
Displays the list of existing Site Journals in the equipment, and allows you to select or create a new Site Journal.
Daily reports:
The currently selected Site Journal reports appear here and can be edited, duplicated, deleted or sent as an HTML file with your photos.
Company list:
Separated by participants and construction companies there are two lists, which can be accessed when writing the report to relate incidents (defects, delays, hindrances, plan entries etc.) with the companies or persons responsible. Your "Contacts" data from your phone can also be imported.
Settings:
In this menu you can configure the resolution with which the added photos are saved (depending on your Internet connection, if it is slow it should be lower), in which form the company names appear and which cloud you want to use.
Synchronization:
with this function you can import or export the Site Journal through Dropbox, Google Drive or directly by cable to your computer.

Deficiency management
Defect documentation is an annoying but essential task for the project manager. With the app you can add photos in series and then complete them with descriptions of the defects.
This is both part of the list of defects, to which deficiencies, damages and defects without photos can also be added.
A defect can be related to a company responsible for adding the photos and related to a date of correction. In the PC version (Windows / Mac) you can then with one click generate a deficiency list of all daily reports or a selection of reports, either as a single list or filtered by one or several companies. This has the advantage that your individual list of defects can be handed over to any company.
It is also possible and useful, to filter that list by date or report numbers.
The photos of the deficiencies can be edited with the computer version (Windows / Mac): it can be shown directly on the photo with arrows where the defect is located and it is specified with text, arrows, lines and other drawing elements what exactly is criticized.
